The cogs are turning over at EA HQ, as the publisher readies
itself for its E3 2015 press conference. Try as it might it can't be watertight
though, and a filing for a European trademark has let slip what looks to be the
official name for the upcoming Mirror’s Edge sequel.
The trademark was filed for the name Mirror’s Edge Catalyst,
and was filed for "computer game software; downloadable computer game
software via a global computer network and wireless devices; video game
software, and entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer
game." That all sounds pretty Mirror’s Edge 2 to us, and the official
Mirror’s Edge Twitter account has leapt on board with the rumour.

The name doesn't give much away for Mirror's Edge 2, other
than the heroine, Faith, likely leading a revolution with her actions, much as
we've come to expect from Mirror's Edge. All signs so far point to Catalyst
being a reboot of the original Mirror's Edge, with all the first-person
free-running intact.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is likely to get a showing during
Electronic Arts' E3 2015 press conference, which takes place next week on
Monday, June 15 at 1PM PT / 4PM ET / 9PM BST.
