Reports are circulating AMD has nailed down the release
dates for its upcoming Radeon R9 300-series of graphics cards. The latest
information suggests there will be a slight wait from announcement until the
graphics adapters will hit the market. If true then AMD’s hardware partners
will begin selling the Radeon R9 380, Radeon R9 370, and Radeon R7 360 graphics
cards on June 18th, with its flagship graphics cards scheduled to come later in
the month.
Anticipation has been building ahead of a reveal for months
now, but rumours indicate AMD is planning to skip the Computex Taipei 2015 show
originally planned for the reveal altogether, instead opting for an E3 2015
showing.
The ones everyone will have an eye out for are the
HBM-equipped Radeon R9 390and 390X, which will be hitting
store shelves on June 24th if these reports ring true. The R9 390-series
graphics cards are set to be the most powerful cards in the family, running on
a Fiji graphics processing unit.
Leaks so far have suggest the high-end Radeon R9 390X will
come packing 8GB 2.5D High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) with 640GB/s bandwidth, owing
to its 4096-bit memory bus. It’s also set to have 4096 stream processors on 64
Compute Units (CUs), and 256 Texture Mapping Units (TMUs)
.
.
The clock is certainly ticking down now, it’s just 34days to go until E3 2015 begins. AMD and PC Gamer will be hosting the
first ever PC-dedicated gaming conference at E3, on Tuesday, June 16 at
5PM PT / 8PM ET / 1AM BST. A number of big names are going to be present, so
this looks like the ideal time to unleash its next-generation graphics cards,
demoing the next generation of games.
