EA Financials Reveal Mirrors Edge 2 Coming Early 2016

I know EA made a bit of a song and dance about Mirror’s Edge 2 at E3 last year, but part of me never took them seriously that it was ever going to see the light of day at all. The original wasn’t exactly a bestseller, despite some fairly widespread critical acclaim, but during EA’s recent financial results it confirmed we can expect Mirror’s Edge 2 in the fourth quarter of FY2016.
In non-financial lingo that’s early 2016, so Faith Connors next free-running adventure should be with us this time next year. What we saw of Mirror’s Edge during E3 was, like much of EA’s press conference, very conceptual, so we’d expect to see a whole lot more of this when June rolls around.
EA will be hosting its E3 2015 conference in the usual slot on the Monday before the conference kicks off proper, at 1PM PST on June 15th.
Other news in the financial report confirmed a new Need For Speed title coming to PC and consoles this holiday season, Star Wars Battlefront - which we already know about, and a new console and PC Plants vs. Zombies game set to hit during the same quarter as Mirror’s Edge 2. No mention whatsoever of a Titanfall 2, so it looks like this won’t be seeing the light of day until late 2016 at the earlier, so don’t go holding your breath for that one at E3.
Which of EA's development roster are you looking forward to most? Can Mirror's Edge live up to the cult following of the first?
