EA has announced details of Battlefield
Hardline’s first expansion pack, called Criminal
Activity. The DLC is the first of four expansions coming to Visceral
Games’ Battlefield debut, and it’s set to focus on fast-paced action.
Coming in June, Criminal Activity packs in four new maps,
including The Beat, Backwoods, Code Blue and Black Friday, which fittingly
enough sound like perfect titles for some episodes of CSI. These will be joined
by three new weapons, six new masks, two new vehicles, a new gadget and a
nailgun pickup, if you’re feeling particularly brutal.
The Nailgun will be a pickup found in certain places within
a map, and looks like it’ll be a full-blown rifle firing nails. My previous
experience with nail guns has been limited to Quake, but it was certainly
awesome there. No pressure, Visceral.
It sounds as if each of the four maps will be close-quarters
affairs, with a secret crime ring behind a spate of criminal activity.
Also included is a new Bounty Hunter game mode, but EA has
yet to detail the specifics of this yet, and two new types of ammunition for
specific weapons.
Battlefield Hardline - Criminal Activity will be available
in June for Battlefield Hardline Premium Members, with it rolling out to
everybody else a fortnight later. This is just the start of EA’s plans for
post-launch content, with Robbery, Getaway and Betrayal packs coming in summer,
autumn, and early 2016 respectively.
Have you grabbed the Battlefield Hardline pass? Has it taken
off as much as you’d hoped, or is Battlefield 4 still your go-to choice?
