Microsoft has confirmed Windows 10 is out on Wednesday, July
29th worldwide. Current users of both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will find the
option to reserve free upgrades now in their system tray.
“The Windows 10 upgrade is designed to be compatible with
your current Windows device and applications,” writes Microsoft’s Terry
Myerson. “We are hard at work to make this upgrade process a great experience.
You can reserve your free Windows 10 upgrade now through a simple reservation
process.”
To get hold of your free Windows 10 upgrade you just have to
click on the small white Windows icon located at the bottom-right of your
taskbar. This will open up the Get Windows 10 App and allow you to reserve your
free upgrade.
Windows 10 comes packing a number of improvements over
Windows 8.1, including the advanced Cortana search features, Microsoft’s new
Edge browser, Office 2016, Xbox Live and the integrated Xbox App, the new and
improved Windows Store, and of course DirectX 12 support.
Windows 10 is out on July 29th and is available to reserve
