Sony Announces New PS4 With 1TB Sony Announces New PS4 With 1TB Storage

Apparently Sony decided to wait for the E3 gaming expo to finish before announcing a renewed version of the popular PS4. Featuring an upgraded hard drive with a capacity of 1TB, as opposed to the 500GB storage space of the current PS4. It will be known as PS4: Ultimate Player 1TB Edition.

Despite a slightly rocky start from the XBox One release, XBox clawed back favour from gamers, in particular in the US. This was largely due to Xbox One consistently locking down big game exclusives, coupled with its recent news regarding its backwards compatibility with all 360 titles. And so this is a move in the right direction from Sony to regain some of that lost territory.

Other than the increased storage space the base specifications for this new version don't really change. It supposedly comes with an upgraded controller, although there's not much information on that yet. There will also be a new version of the PlayStation app for your smart-tech. There is no news on whether it will be possible to hook it up with an external storage device, like the Xbox One can.

Pricing is yet to be revealed as so far this new edition is not available for pre-order.
