EA has unveiled a brand new Need For Speed game from Ghost
Games, the same studio responsible for 2013’s Need For Speed Rivals, and
comprised of a number of ex-Criterion developers. Going simply by the name Need
For Speed, this is a reboot of the classic racing series, coming to PC,
PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
A full reveal is coming during its E3 2015 press conference
Monday, June 15 at 1PM PT / 4PM ET / 9PM BST, but in the meantime we’ve got an
early look with an in-engine teaser trailer and the first batch of screens.
Bearing some heavy nods to Need For Speed Underground, Need
For Speed will be entirely nocturnal, with an open-world, deep car
customisation, an ongoing narrative and “authentic urban car culture.”
“Need for Speed is one of the most iconic names in gaming,
and we're returning it to greatness in this reboot,” said Marcus Nilsson, executive
producer at Ghost Games. “Pulling on our 20 years of history, and then taking a
year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we’ve always wanted to.
We're listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture
their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed.”
EA have revealed a trailer which you can check out below.
They claim it’s in-game visuals, so make of that what you will. We’ll be
getting a full trailer at E3 on June 15th.
Need For Speed is out in Fall this year, on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
