Codemasters has sensationally not only announced the latest
title in the Dirt series, but it's also released the game today. Dirt Rally is
available to buy on PC right now via Early Access, and already comes packing 17
classic and current cars to race over 36 different stages from three locations
around the world.
With Dirt Rally, Codemasters claims it wants to take rally
driving to a new level of realism, totally rebuilding the simulation and
driving models of the Dirt series, ensuring each and every car feels unique
when the pedal's to the metal. You can check out the first ever gameplay video
right now on the game page, and if you're picking it up then make sure to check
out the official Dirt Rally system requirements below.

As you can see there is an absolutely humongous disparity
between the minimum and recommended Dirt Rally system requirements. In fact,
about as large as you can get for DirectX 11 hardware. This tells us that
Codemasters has much Dirt extremely scalable, much like GRID Autosport,
enabling users to set extremely low settings to play the game, but also giving
higher-end graphics cards a workout when all the settings are cranked up.
With recommended requirements of a GTX 780 or a R9 290, Dirt
Rally is clearly capable of being quite a looker. Without a point of reference
it's difficult to tell what resolution this is targeted at, although we suspect
this is for maxing Dirt Rally out at 1080p with every graphics setting.
