Forget Minesweeper, Space Cadet Pinball, and Solitaire,
there’s a new kid on the block. Everyone’s favourite thing to hate / love
(delete as appropriate), Candy Crush Saga,
is coming bundled in with every single copy of Windows 10,
Microsoft has announced.
The saccharine-tinged sweet-toothed grandaddy of mobile
gaming will be there for all, ready to while away those dull hours on the
train. The ubiquitous Candy Crush Saga has already found a home on over half a
billion mobile devices, delivering a dangerously addictive variation on the
match-3 game types, but now it wants to invade your homes.
“Gaming has always been a huge part of the Windows
experience, with titles like Solitaire, Minesweeper, and Hearts each being
played millions of times over the years,” said Microsoft on the Xbox News
Wire. “While these are all returning in Windows 10, those aren’t the only
games you’ll be playing. In fact, we've got some great news to announce today: King
will be bringing Candy Crush Saga to Windows 10.” Finally, Microsoft’s come
good on its commitment to PC gaming…
It’ll be automatically installed in any Windows 10
installation so there’s no escaping it this time around. That’s not the end for
developer King’s games either, with a host of other titles set to hit Windows
10 in the near future.
I have to say we had our money on Minecraft cropping up in
every copy of Windows 10, but Microsoft’s clearly got different plans for that
money spinner.
Will you be having a crafty Candy Crush Saga session when no
one's around? Or keeping it old-school with Solitaire?
