There’s a new trailer out for Batman:Arkham Knight, and I get the distinct impression after watching it that
Warner Bros wants me to punch strangers on a train, run headlong into a burning
building, and singlehandedly take on three armed muggers, risks be damned.
The live action Batman: Arkham Knight - Be the Batman
trailer emphasises the selflessness, courage, and determination needed to be
the Caped Crusader himself. Personally I find impeccable counter-attack timing,
hiding in vents, and picking off poor guards one by one to be the necessary
tools. Oh, and there’s even a bit of gameplay footage thrown on at the end for
good measure.
“Throughout the development of Batman: Arkham Knight, our
goal has been to create the ultimate Batman experience and give players the
chance to be the Batman like never before,” said Gaz Deaves, Rocksteady
social marketing man. “For us that has meant building out all of Gotham
City, showing Batman at the peak of his powers, and putting him in control of a
brand new, unstoppable Batmobile. But it’s not just about the power fantasy of
being the savior and protector of Gotham: Batman will be tested like never
before by a united force of super-villains that are hell-bent on taking him
down.”
Batman: Arkham Knight is out on June 23rd for PC,
PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s an expensive one this time out, with the
Premium Edition going for a RRP of £67.98 on Steam, so keep an eye out for
deals in the run-up to launch.
