If, like me, you had been bracing yourself for the
disappointment of yet another The
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt delay, then worry no more, because CD Projekt
RED has confirmed The Witcher 3 has gone gold and development has finished.
The third and final part of The Witcher trilogy, Wild Hunt
promises to feature more than 100 hours of gameplay set within a vast open
world, 30 times larger than any seen in previous Witcher titles. Geralt of
Rivia returns as protagonist, battling the blood-soaked invasion of the Wild
Hunt in the Northern Kingdoms, who are embarking on a cataclysmic rampage.
We worked so damn hard over the past three years to bring
you this game,” said CD Projekt RED studio head Adam Badowski. “From the
corrupt nobles in Novigrad to ancient monsters lurking in deep forests, to the
bustling cities, colorful ports and breathtaking vistas; all the people, all
the places — we literally spent tens of thousands of hours to turn all that
into an adventure that will kick your ass and make you want to come for more.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has gone GOLD and will soon be yours!”
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be arriving on May 19th
worldwide, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If you’re planning on picking
it up early then you’ll be pleased to know CD Projekt RED has plenty of
post-launch content planned, including 16 free DLC packs and two fully-fledged
expansions. Dubbed Hearts
of Stone and Blood
& Wine, the two expansion packs will be arriving in October 2015
and early 2016 respectively.
